Body Acne

Body Acne occurs when an facial acne breakouts become more sever and  progress to affect other areas of the body.  Not everyone with acne will experience breakouts on the body, but almost always those with body acback-acnene also have acne on the face.  The most common body acne occurs on the back, chest, neck, shoulders, and upper arms.  Body acne can affect both males and females, however, it is more common and more severe in males.

Body acne is caused by the same factors that trigger facial acne. Those factors include: overactive oil glands, dead skin cells, and acne-causing bacteria. The oil in your skin, when mixed with dead skin cells trapped in a pore create a blockage.  This blockage becomes a blackhead and progresses to a pimple when bacteria invades the blocked pore.  Friction caused by certain clothing or gear may aggravate the blocked pore and cause a larger inflammation.  Try to avoid such friction when you are trying to heal body acne.  Such friction can be caused by tight-fitting clothing, snug collars, backpacks, purse straps, and athletic pads or gear.  Sweat can also irritate body acne, to minimize irritation shower as soon as possible after exercising using a gentle cleanser.

When treating body acne, you typically can use several acne treatments due to the fact that the skin on the back, chest, shoulders, and uppper arms is toughter then facial skin.  If you notice any excessive irritation on any area of the body reduce usuage of treatments or discontinue use of product, and consult your doctor.  As with facial acne, it takes time to control body acne.  You may need to try several treatments before finding one that works for you. Most cases of acne and body acne can be cleared given time and patience.

Acne Scar Peel

becca-acnepreviewAn acne scar peel might just be the way to go if you are contemplating using different methods of acne scar removal.  Chemical peels can improve the small depressed scars effectively and can even remove some of the larger acne scars.  An Acne scar peel is a very effective way of removing remaining acne such as black heads and white heads.

Ice pick scars and fibrotic scars, however are not treated very effectively by chemical peels.  Keloids are also not normally treated by a chemical acne scar peel.  Any deep pitting and scarring may take several repeated chemical peels to help improve the look of the scar tissue.

Although chemical peels have proven to be quite helpful in reducing and removing acne scars, they do not always work and are most definately not for everyone.  This kind of Dermatologist Skin Care May result in extreme facial burning from the peel, and have recieved additional scars in the process.  Some peoples skin is so sensitive that they have reported not being able to go outside or be seen in public for upwards of 2 weeks.  Skin type, tone, and personal tolerance has alot to do with how effective an acne peel will be for you.  Cost can range from 100.00 to 1,000.00 dollars.

Home Remedies For Acne Scars

Home remedies for acne scars can be found in your neighborhood supermarket and kept in the comfort of your own home. Most home remedies for acne scars are quickly concocted and help to soothe the skin or help remove acne scars altogether. Here are some of the top home remedies for acne scars:

Quick relief- Rub ice cubes on the affected area.  Doing this will soothe the irritated skin and shrink the pore size.

Lemons/Limes- Use a cotton ball and apply the juice directly on your acne scars.  Lemon juice reduces the appearance of dark scars by lightening them.  Leave the juice on your skin long enough to allow the juice to soak into your skin then simply wash off with water.

Olive Oil- Massage the oil on the acne scars, it will moisturize and soften the texture of the skin while reducing the visibility of the acne scars.

Face Mask- Mix 1 tbsp of yogurt, few drops of lemon juice, 1 tbsp of sour cream, and 1 tbsp of oatmeal.  Apply directly to acne scars, simply pat mixture on skin and leave it on for 10 minutes and rinse.

Sandal wood/ rosewater paste- Sandalwood has a soothing and cooling effect on the skin.  Mix sandalwood with a few drops of rosewater to make a paste and apply to skin like a face mask.  The longer you leave it on the better, leave on at least an hour but for best results leave on overnight.  Remove with water.

Laser Acne Scar Removal

Becoming more and more popular, Laser acne scar removal, is used to remove scar tissue left behind from acne.  This kind of Dermatologist Skin Care is also called laser resurfacing, and can be done in the dermatologists’ office.  The laser removes the damaged top layer of skin and tightens the middle layer, leaving your skin smoother to the look and touch.  The can be as quick as a few minutes or last about an hour.  The doctor will ease the pain by first using anesthesia.  The skin will usually be healed completely within 3 to 10 days of the process.

The newest form of, Dermatologist Skin Care laser acne scar removal,  is called fractional laser therapy.  This treatment works at a deeper level than laser resurfacing. The advantage to this is that it does not wound the top layer of skin tissue, as a result healing time is much faster.  However it is quite costly and is not usually covered by health insurance.  Your acne must be somewhat allready under control before laser acne scar removal can take place.

If the doctor does not think that your acne is severe enough for laser acne removal he may suggest a chemical peel or microdermabrasion.  These are treatments that can genereally be done right at the office as well.
