Home Remedies for Acne and Pimples
As brought out in an earlier article, some home remedies will work on your acne almost as well as an over the counter product. When dealing with acne, especially teenagers, there is a large misconception that washing the face with soap and water in the morning and at night is good for the skin. The problem with soap is that it is a drying agent which will not help acne, it will only make it worse. However, using lukewarm salty water has shown to remove oils from the face without drying the skin.
A simple home remedy that you may find growing in your backyard, is aloe vera. If you do not have aloe vera growing in your yard, it can be found at most health stores. Aloe vera applied to the skin twice daily has been known to help with the healing process of acne scarring.
Another home remedy that can be found growing in a garden, well vegetable garden, is the tomato. Tomatoes have been found to help open the pores of the skin and are great for treatment of black heads. Slice the tomato and rub thoroughly on the skin, allowing it to sit for 15 minutes. Wash off. This will dramatically reduce blackheads and his great treatment for particularly oily skin.
Once again going back to vegetable garden or your local grocery store, look for the cucumber. This treatment is not only easy but as refreshing as well. Simply bland cucumber in a blender into a paste, allow it to sit for 30 to 45 minutes and then wash it off. This will help keep your skin young looking.
Would you have ever guess the next home remedy would come from another fruit? Orange peel has been found very very effective in the treatment of acne. Mix the orange peel well with water on a stone and apply to affected acne areas.
Next is a very sweet home remedy, you may find this remedy in your backyard as well but I would recommend not taking it from its owners! Find honey at your local grocery store and mix it with 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder, make a paste. Apply the paste to pimples before going to bed, and wash off the next morning with warm water. This process should be repeated for two weeks.
Check back often as I will continue to search the web for some of the best home remedies out there.
