Body acne is caused by the same factors that trigger facial acne. Those factors include: overactive oil glands, dead skin cells, and acne-causing bacteria. The oil in your skin, when mixed with dead skin cells trapped in a pore create a blockage. This blockage becomes a blackhead and progresses to a pimple when bacteria invades the blocked pore. Friction caused by certain clothing or gear may aggravate the blocked pore and cause a larger inflammation. Try to avoid such friction when you are trying to heal body acne. Such friction can be caused by tight-fitting clothing, snug collars, backpacks, purse straps, and athletic pads or gear. Sweat can also irritate body acne, to minimize irritation shower as soon as possible after exercising using a gentle cleanser.
When treating body acne, you typically can use several acne treatments due to the fact that the skin on the back, chest, shoulders, and uppper arms is toughter then facial skin. If you notice any excessive irritation on any area of the body reduce usuage of treatments or discontinue use of product, and consult your doctor. As with facial acne, it takes time to control body acne. You may need to try several treatments before finding one that works for you. Most cases of acne and body acne can be cleared given time and patience.
