Back Acne Scars

“Bacne,” or back acne and body acne, like facial acne, is usually triggered by overactive oil glands.  It oftentimes occurs in skin areas where there is a high concentration of sebaceous glands; thus, the body and back skin surfaces.

Body acne and back acne usually occurs to both sexes starting from puberty.  This is generally caused by the production of excess sebum trapped in the pores; when bacteria invade this, it usually creates blackheads, whiteheads or acne.

There are some simple tips to control body skin breakouts:
Instead of using soaps, use a pH balanced body wash or a hair shampoo in washing your body and use lukewarm water.
Friction or rubbing can irritate skin, use a soft sponge and avoid harsh scrubbing.
Exercise for at least 20 minutes, 3 times a week, and be sure to wash your body afterwards.
Avoid wearing tight clothes, and if you ever you have to wear one, avoid sweating.  This will help your skin breath and free from irritation.
Avoid too much sunlight that will dry your skin because this will over-stimulate your sebaceous glands.
Use oil-free and non-comedogenic skin care products.
Avoid using skin products with high concentration of alcohol because this will make your dry thus stimulating the sebaceous glands to produce more oil.

Topical treatments such as Benzoyl peroxide and Salicylic acid are proven effective in the treatment of acne. Benzoyl peroxide kills bacteria while Salicylic acid helps unclog pores.  Eliminating acne does not happen overnight, it usually takes time and patience in doing the treatment or prevention of it.

As compared to facial skin, skin in other parts of the body is tougher and harder to reach; this makes back acne and body acne harder to deal with.  This applies too to acne scars resulting from back and body acne; thus, to prevent from having back or body acne scars, it is better that acne be treated first to prevent further skin problems.
