Acne Cleanser and Skin Types
An effective acne cleanser is not identified by a brand name, nor people modeling the product, but by every individual. So what is a good acne cleanser? What skin cleanser works best? Our unique hormone balance, and skin type makes it hard to pinpoint a single product that will work for everyone. The following are the different skin types and the types of cleansers best for each.
Oily skin requires good cleaning formula. Bar and liquid cleansers are available in the market for this skin type. Cleansers for oily skin are stronger.
Dry skin needs to be kept moisturized all the time. The mildest cleansers work well for this type.
Normal skin is not as sensitive as the other skin types. Usually, lower strengths can be used.
An acne cleanser is recommended to be used twice a day. While the strength of cleanser depends on the skin type, the frequency of application is advised to be limited to only two times a day. Excessive washing, scrubbing, and rubbing of skin will only aggravate the condition of acne.
Acne cleansers are meant to remove accumulated oil, sweat, and dirt on the skin surface. Also, mild acne cleansers are suggested to those who regularly wear make up. Regular use of an acne cleanser (once a day, as a facial cleanser only) is also advisable especially nowadays.
When looking for an acne or pimple cleanser for the first time, choose one that is low in alcohol content, as it will dry your skin. Especially if your skin is dry, be sure to use moisturizer that is oil-free.
